On a bright and spirited Sunday morning, Bengaluru witnessed a powerful public health movement in action. The HridayAmrit Foundation (HAF) Walkathon 2025 united over 400 individuals across age groups and professions in a collective step toward a Smoke-Free India.
Held at the historic Cubbon Park, this walkathon was more than a fitness initiative—it was a public commitment to awareness, advocacy, and prevention. As participants walked through central Bengaluru, they carried not just banners and slogans, but a shared vision of a healthier, tobacco-free future.
Participants ranged from students and young professionals to healthcare workers and senior citizens, reinforcing the idea that the fight against tobacco is a shared responsibility. The walkathon served as a platform to educate the public about the dangers of tobacco, highlight the importance of early cessation, and encourage preventive measures as part of a broader strategy to reduce the burden of cardiovascular and respiratory diseases in India.
“This walkathon represents a growing national awareness that change begins with individual steps. By coming together in such large numbers, we’ve shown that community-based action can drive significant health impact. We thank every participant, partner, and volunteer who brought this vision to life.”
The success of this event marks just the beginning. The HridayAmrit Foundation remains committed to organizing more such initiatives focused on preventive health, education, and advocacy. We proudly kicked off our inaugural walk for the Heart Health Campaign in Bengaluru with the HAF Walkathon 2025, marking the beginning of a powerful grassroots movement dedicated to promoting cardiovascular wellness and tobacco-free living. This flagship initiative united hundreds of individuals- students, healthcare professionals, families, and senior citizens—who came together with a shared mission to raise awareness about heart health, encourage early prevention, and advocate for healthier lifestyle choices. The success of this first walk lays the foundation for a series of impactful public health initiatives aimed at empowering communities across India to take charge of their heart health, one step at a time.
Let’s keep walking- toward a smoke-free, heart-healthy India.
