Geriatric Awareness and Health Check-up Camp at Old Age Home
On 26 July 2025, HridayAmrit Foundation, in collaboration with Doctors For A Cause, organized a Geriatric Awareness and Health Check-up Camp at Swarg Community Old Age Home in Ahmedabad. The initiative was designed to address the unique health needs of the elderly, combining clinical care with compassionate engagement.
Event Focus
The camp included a series of activities aimed at improving awareness and ensuring accessible care for the residents:
Awareness sessions on common age-related health issues, with a special emphasis on cardiovascular health.
Bilingual infographics in English and Gujarati to aid understanding and long-term recall.
Personal health conversations with residents, offering practical guidance for managing chronic conditions in daily life.
Basic health assessments including blood pressure, height, weight, BMI, and pulse.
Screening services such as visual acuity checks and neurological assessments.
Doctor-led examinations with prescription of medications where necessary.
Why It Matters?
Elderly populations are often underserved when it comes to proactive healthcare. This initiative aimed to bridge gaps by not only providing medical evaluations but also fostering warmth, dignity, and continued attention to the needs of older adults. By combining preventive health education with clinical support, the camp sought to create a model of holistic geriatric care. We extend our gratitude to the doctors, volunteers, and partner organizations who made this camp possible. Their collective efforts helped ensure that residents received both care and connection- an approach that lies at the heart of our mission to integrate compassion with clinical excellence.
