We wrapped an insightful HeartScape session with Dr Avani Prabhakar on Palliative Care in Cardiology, explored through a guided interview format. We discussed the global landscape of palliative care, why it matters in advanced heart disease, how interdisciplinary teams support patients and families, the realities of communication around prognosis, and real cases where palliative care changed outcomes. Dr Avani also shared guidance for young clinicians on adopting a palliative mindset in cardiology. The session reframed palliative care as a parallel companion to treatment and not the end of it.
